It was very quiet today with just 10 of us here.  The Crouches and Sadie are in Ukarumpa until tomorrow.  After breakfast Hadyn and Steph headed off to the hospital.  Steph is helping out in the pharmacy/dispensary counting medications and repackaging for patient use.  Hadyn is following doctors in clinic and surgery.  Our haus mary is Lena again today.  She has such a bright smile and likes to talk. Her English is good which helps since my Pidgen is non-existent.  Jerry and Steve are working on a fire pit for the Barnabas House.  All the supplies for it were piled outside so they are shoveling dirt and gravel to get it designed and completed.  Sam & Clarence worked for a couple of hours at the project but it is at a point right now that none of our guys are needed…..something to do with leveling.  Barbara hasn’t felt well after getting a head cold so she is staying inside with Wonda and I.  There is a man named Don here at the station who does a lot of woodwork in his spare time.  He’s been here about 7 years.  He makes wooden toys for the kids in the hospital and wooden puzzles.  He had brought some wood by the house yesterday and asked us to draw pictures on it.  He’ll cut them out and make puzzles from them.  Today Barbara is drawing pictures of farm animals, trees, houses, and other things easily recognizable to kids. She is also doing some painting the pictures she has drawn.  At lunch Hadyn is excited that she got to scrub in on a c-section this morning.   In the afternoon she got to see a normal delivery and make rounds with doctors.  Andy took off to Hagen with Tim to pick up the district DS from the airport.  After supper Steph led devotions and we learned a song in Pidgen that Charity taught us.  Then an inaugural fire in the new fire pit.  We also saw the Big Dipper (upside down, which only proves we are “down under” and the Southern Cross constellation at the same time, which I understand is fairly uncommon.  All in all it was a fairly quiet, noneventful day.
