We loaded up this morning and headed to the Naz. guest house for breakfast and then headed to one of the Child Development Centers (CDC) in the area. These are sites where the children are educated and fed one nutritious meal per day.
While we were there some of the children sang and danced for us. One of our team had brought along some pencils for the children and passed them out.
We then walked over to a new area ministry center that had just been completed.
From there we drove to a rural CDC. The children there welcomed us and we presented them with a couple of Frisbees and showed them how to use them. They were an instant hit.
After leaving the CDC we visited a church that had been built a few years ago with funds that had been donated by someone who some of the team knew personally. On the way back into Birgonj we stopped to see 40 acres of land that has been purchased to build a village for widows and orphans.
Then it was back to the guest house for lunch. After lunch we went back to the compound where we had spent the night and loaded up our bags to relocated to a hotel in Dinajpur for the next 2 nights. As nothing else was planned until a JESUS Film showing that evening we had time to relax in our rooms for a couple of hours.
After leaving the hotel at 6 pm we drove back to the Birgonj area for the JESUS Film showing. We arrived after the film had already begun and only stayed for about 30 minutes and then slipped away. This was to not interfere with the response to the film. Around 400 people were in attendance at the showing.
Returning to the hotel we had a late dinner and a time of sharing. Then up to our rooms and a hot shower before turning in.
