Tuesday, February 23

Today was a day to relax, get some laundry done, etc.

At breakfast though we were told that there was an archaeological site nearby that we could visit. So we decided that we would do that this morning. It was not too far away, only 15-20 minutes drive. There was a museum that housed artifacts dating from the 3rd century BC through the 1700’s. Coins, toys, statues, etc. from various periods of the region. Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, etc. artifacts.

Also there were some partially restored brick walls of various structures, most probably temples that we were able to walk on, around and through. On one of the mounds there were a group of soldiers doing training.

After coming to the hotel for lunch we had the afternoon off. I worked on catching up on this blog and took a short nap. A couple of the guys tried out the paddle boats that are available at a man-made pond behind the hotel.

The team met for dinner and then we all went back to our rooms for the evening. I just finished chatting with Susan on webcam via Skype. It was nice to see and hear her.

Another early day tomorrow as we have a ways to travel, plus we will be doing a training session on how to set up the portable ARK building we brought for the ministry teams here.
